Our Board of Directors

Chad Johnson, LMFT, established Heartland Family Solutions in the fall of 2007. His passion and desire to see Heartland become a leading advocate for individuals needing Christian- based mental health services at a cost which they can afford compels him to work tirelessly to that end. Chad currently serves as Vice-President and Secretary for the Board of Directors.

Dr. Jim Pettitt, currently teaches Child Development, Human Development and Introduction to Psychology at Johnson County Community College. Jim is a denominational consultant/ minister as well as a marriage counselor and facilitator with the Church of the Nazarene. Dr. Pettitt was instrumental in the establishment of the Christian Counseling Center, which is still in operation today in Wichita, Kansas. His experience and expertise with effective mental health practice is a vital resource making him a highly valued member of Heartland's Board of Directors.

Rev. Michael Downs, is currently the senior pastor of Faith Journey Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas and a church plant consultant for the greater Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Downs has a rich educational background in psychology which he uses quite frequently as he provides pastoral counseling to many of those within his congregation as well as those from the Olathe area. The unique location of Faith Journey Church, the Great Mall of Olathe, provides Rev. Downs with unique perspectives on how a Faith-Based agency can best serve a secular community. Rev. Downs overall experience over the last 20 years is a needed and tremendous asset to our Board.

Rev. Lynn Johnson, has ministered to and counseled families and individuals for over 30 years. Rev. Johnson is now semi-retired spending most of his time working as a consultant and minister with College Church of the Nazarene's Upreach Ministries in Olathe, Kansas. His wealth of experience providing assistance and case management to the impoverished communities of Arkansas and Louisiana, and now Kansas, allows Heartland's board to understand first-hand how to best meet the needs of those we serve. Rev. Johnson currently serves as President of Heartland's Board of Directors.
